Squeegee size
« on: November 02, 2014, 11:01:05 AM »
i don't have enough squeegees.      I thought of using the youth sized squeegees on the adult platen.
Often one of the colors is not the full width.
Will this work?       Will the ink push out sideways?    I could use a small squeegee and large flood bar.
There is also a possibility that the small squeegee will leave a mark on a wider print, say the base or any color printed before it.

You should be just fine. Round the ends of the squeegee to prevent marks. We see more problems with this if  we're using a bigger squeegee than the platen/pallet, this gives very bad marks on some garments & usually cause other problems with squeegee  pressure and whatnot.

Oh, & if you don't have a shorter flood bar. Cut some cardboard to the size needed & tape it to the squeegee, leaving enough room so that when the squeegee is down & stroking, you have about the width of a credit card between the screen & cardboard ( kind of like a light flood ). That way you don't end up with a bunch of ink at the top of your screen when you squeegee back.
