Turning the tables on a rush customer.
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:36:09 PM »
So today we had a call for 5 shirts (2 color) that they needed done today as the gumbo cook off was this weekend.  She tells them we will see and call you back with the price.  I let my guy handle the price as he always goes higher than I do on rush and we usually get it.

His response is genius!  He says $30 bucks and a pot of gumbo!

I said, that's perfect!  Tell them we will do it for $100 bucks and a pot of gumbo TODAY or it's $40 bucks a shirt!

Reluctantly our girl calls them back and delivers it beautifully... I had to record it!

The other end of the conversation is "well, I can bring them some gumbo Sunday!"
The nerve of us, asking them to produce a product same day like that!

Priceless. ;D

We had one today from a contract customer.  Calls last night around 6:00 and ask if we can do 300 or so shirts 4 color front by tomorow.  I tell them to send the art ASAP and get me the shirts in the morning and we will get it taken care of.  ( this is aVERY GOOD customer)  I get the art today at 11:00, its a process job that turned into 7 colors.  Their guy delivers the shirts at 12:30, I get the seps done and start printing film at 1:00.  Guy ask me if he has time to get lunch before we start printing, he gets back from his lunch at 3:00 to find the finished shirts on the skid waiting to be loaded back on the truck.  Oh yea we had 7 other jobs in the Que that also where completed today.  The kiker is I  got to leave early today ;D
Even though I came in at 4:30.

How bizarre, I'm sitting here on hold while someone at A. C. Moore checks to see if they have 7 purple Gildan on the shelf. I delivered last night, and they discovered they are 7 short, who cares whose fault, help! I will print them and drive them to her. Good customer, and it's kind of on the way home, well OK, a half hour past it, but whatcha gonna do?
