Palet Adhesive

We have some double sided pallet adhesive (a roll of) for our manual press but are running low. Anyone use this and if so where do you get it from?

Not sure about the double sided tape, but I think the majority of us use standard pallet tape with waterbased adhesive.  I would say it is the superior method.

How often are you applying the adhesive? I have made a decision to start using wb adhesive and over 3 days I think I have had to apply at least daily.

I only reapply if it loses it's tac.  I clean off the lint with a scrub brush every few hundred shirts depending on the shirt style and the design (spray with a little water and the lint comes right off).  It is typically as good as new after scrubbing, and I would say I easily go a few thousand shirts without reapplying the glue.  Honestly unless I am doing deep penetrating discharge or have something out of the ordinary, I typically change the glue and the tape at the same time.  I'm not sure about other shops, but the tac is a miracle worker compared to spray adhesives etc.

We use the double sided and then also use the water based adhesive. We think over time we get less buildup. When you clean off the water based it brings it back to a base sticky material.

Are you ever cleaning and rejuvenating, or just re-applying it over lint?
As pointed out, a little water, a brush or scrub pad, a trip under the fals, and usually, voila! good to go again.

Gerry are you cleaning up your pallets at all? We probably apply glue every couple days at most, depends
on what we're running though. Simple green and water + a rag/brush + a quick flash = renewed pallet adhesive.

I will say that I don't like the Image Technologies product though, it doesn't renew nearly as well as the CCI for us.
Matter of fact, there's not much I like from them...

I applied right over the lint. I wonder if that locked the lint down and now have to change the tape. I guess its worth a try.
I am using the IT since I got a sample but also have CCI's so I will try both.

Yep, never apply new glue over lint. Clean first. That said, you should still be able to clean it off.
It doesn't work at all when applied over lint.

And don't be surprised if immediately after cleaning, and still damp, it doesn't feel sticky. That comes with drying, and, as I said, sped up with the flash.

Yea, right over the old lint is basically not going to do you any good.  It will seriously release like 95% of the lint with a quick spray of water and a quick scrub and after a few seconds under the flash it will hold for a few hundred more shirts.  It's AWESOME!  If you haven't experienced that yet, just wait.  You'll love it

One thing I did notice is that it is damm sticky when fresh, almost to sticky. I just put a small bead across the back of the pallet and use a spreader and spread it toward me.

Yes,it's uber tacky at first but you find the balance.
