Looking for the least toxic way to go about printing on some bike tubes (butyl, not latex, rubber). These are piece goods- cut, washed bike tubes - that will be sewn into other products.
I know TWs 11000 series or equivalent Nazdar solvent inks could do it but would rather stick with water as our solvent. Going to trial some TW 5500 series on them to see but I'm not convinced it's the magic bullet. Looks like QCM discontinued their rubber-base line and I'm not clear on whether or not balloon ink will adhere well to a non-latex rubber.
If they can take a 300deg journey through the dryer I would consider running them with Epic Performance but again, not sure on adhesion.
Low-temp CAD transfers perhaps would be an option, but I'd rather just print 'em. Homeboy needs these in a hurry.
Anyone printed butyl or something similar before?
