Gantlet III Press, Chanllenger III-D or ....?
« on: September 15, 2014, 09:37:49 AM »
My shop has been in the market for a new press at the end of the year.  We current running 3 gantlets.  One from 1995 and the others were 99 models.  The time has come to purchase another machine we want to get a 14 color press and I don't see any reason why to switch since our last presses have lasted the test of time.  I was wondering if there were any other press that I should be looking at that can also with stand the test of time?  We have also been looking at the MHM Synchroprint S-Type Xtreme since our tech tol us that those machines are also bulit like a rock.  Seeing if anyone can give me some advise since i want a beast of a machine with great customer service.  I don't really know mhm's track record on service.

Welcome.
Someone will definitely chime in on this, as equipment reports and chances to cheer or jeer seem like one of the most popular subjects here.
In fact, if you look through old threads in this section, you'll find more than one where this got discussed.
We have at least a half dozen members spinning MHM's, I don't remember any one of them ever expressing regrets.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

i doubt there is much in common with the new Gaunlets and your old ones other than name....press technology has made some major upgrades.

You should look into the new Gauntlet III. It will be shown at two shows this year. The ISS show in DFW and the SGAI show in Vegas. You will be blown away!!!

IMHO stay with the same systems your shop is currently using.  For example front and rear screen holders with a tri lock vs. the pin FPU used on MHM presses.  As stated above there has been major improvements to technology compared to 10+ years ago.  Best of luck to you on your new purchase.
