Do you keep lids on your plastisol ink?

Just wondering and figured a poll was an easy way to keep track of the yays & nays.

I voted yes, but with 1 caveat... during printing, we leave the buckets open.  White ink and other colors (yellow especially), that attract bugs, we typically lightly recover.

if it's a bucket we are going to go into weekly, we cut a little notch at the edge of the lid so that a goop scoop can stick out, but the lid still snap on and keep crud out of the ink.

here's a question. what do you guys do with the lids? I always find them in the ink room, upside down on top of another bucket -drives me bananas. I was thinking about a small hole and nail system where they can hang the lids out of the way,. Same with the 5 gal buckets, the lids are just sitting everywhere...

oh and I voted yes, but again, that's when they are not in use. Funny how much lint and bugs get into it...nothing like printing a fly.

I do what Mike does cut a slit in the lid for my handle to stick out, lint and dust can find ink very very fast....

D, we had a, "FROG" hop into a bucket that someone didn't lid up one night on the ground. I dip into the bucket the next day, he must have dug down deep in it. noticed this big ole chunk in the brown ink, and sure nuff, a frog the size of a tennis ball, protein shirts anyone, hahhahha

At Precision the river rats were so fond of the sweet smelling white that we had to change brands. So yes, lids.

I try to cover my inks, but I have two whites and my black sitting here right now with no lids because they seem to get used so often.

Speaking of sweet smelling inks. Have, or do you use Union's maxopaque Traffic light neon green, and Neon Oribit Yellow, man, those two smell like candy. I wish all plastisol smelled like those,

I said yes, but for black and white the lid is just laying on top not snapped. Bugs are the main thing for me, stink bugs the last few years. I used to leave white and black open until I had to scoop about 50 stink bugs out one day.

I said yes. But that is more so how t is supposed to be. There will always be a few with the covers off at any given time.

We do a once a week quick cleaning of the shop and anything that was not put away properly, such as covers not on inks, gets taken care of.

you can always put scented oils in your ink for a better smell
