Mitchell & Mitchell Garcia300 split from Epson Discussion
« on: September 17, 2014, 08:44:22 PM »

Not sure what I'm going to do with the 3000's. I've think I've become a hoarder of sorts, for the 3000 and its inks.

I'm that way with 300's, Mitchell Garcia 300's. ;D

Oh Man Frog~
The Mitchell 300!!!!!!!
A man after my own heart~
My dad hooked one attached to a pole off the bottom of a lake back in 1968 when the
Tigers won the World Series. Good family times fishing on vacation for those
who don't know of the MG 300.

He, then I used that thing for 20 years! What a solid piece of engineering!!
I even saw they came out with a new one recently. I want one bad.

The Epson 3000 seems like a similar workhorse, but newer, better technology out there.

I actually started with a 410, the same reel with high speed gearing and dark blue rather than the usual black.

Boy I still have that reel, just too worn out to use.
Walleye was (he) and is (me) our favorite hunt of the underwater species.

I once caught a largemouth bass so large that it just fit in a quickly cleared out tool box
to take to the taxidermist. It was a catch of a lifetime and probably lake record from
that Michigan lake. Couldn't believe a fish so large; just lazy wattled into the net on a very hot summer day,
not resisting the the #07 gold Rapala!
It was tragic- after taking it to the guy to mount and leaving $20 deposit, had to tell him I didn't have the $165 to finish it.  :(

Back story- too embarrassed to ask Pop to help with paying for it because......
I just started a "screen printing" business and had to ask him to pay taxes for the first year- stupid $1500,
when in reality, all I had to do was buy a piece of equipment to offset taxes and didn't know any better.
Lesson learned and every time I wet a line, I'm looking for that next trophy.

Was Abu Mitchell's brother?

It has since changed hands, but Garcia was the importer of both Swedish Abu, and French Mitchell, so yes, in a sense  ;D

I always though Abu Garcia was a mismatched name, especially for a Swede.
