Jason Rodriguez

Who's Rebel Screen Suppy, just curious.

In the form of a Jeopardy answer: Who is Jason Wiley?
Rebel screen supply is Jason Rodriguez I'm pretty sure. And if I understand correct, he is going by Jason Wiley now. But I'd like it if someone could verify my information. I'm about 97% sure though.

It is...

WHOA, wait a minute here, back this train up just a second for me. So Jason Rodriguez is Rebel Screen Supply and he is an authorized dealer of Anatol equipment?  A representative of Anatol sort of answered some questions pertaining to this but depending on the truth they really didn't answer the question and did some spinning.

I'll give this some time before I lose my mind and get chippy and if anyone can give me a good reason why we shouldn't talk about this then let me hear it, privately if you have to but publicly would be MUCH better.  To not discuss this would be a travesty and would hurt the industry and I'd lose a lot of respect for those who would rather just push it aside.

And that's why I asked the question.

I reached out to Anatol when I heard they were associated with JR. I received a phone call and spoke with Steve (I think?) at Anatol and he told me that they have severed their relationship with JR. He told me he had already been informed about JR's past and decided to end the relationship then. If things have changed then that's news to me, but I'm pretty sure they aren't associated anymore.

Was that him?  I saw the booth but didn't know that was him.

Nobody was in the booth, at all.  Not one time when I walked by.  LOL

I spent about 15 minutes talking with Jason in Nashville about ways to clear his name.  I hope he takes my advice, he was always cool with me, I know others have different experiences.

I'm all about giving second chances but if you guys had read just a few of the emails I've gotten over the last few years from people who have tried to buy equipment from brokers (there are more than just one or two that will get over on you) you'd more than likely take my stance on this.  I can also understand selling used equipment to people who aren't being realistic about what it is they are buying but literally a dozen people who were knowingly sold a pile of junk or something completely different than what they were told they were receiving is way more than just having a few unrealistic customers.

IMO most brokers are not doing what they pretend to be doing.  Many pretend to have the equipment or pretend they have seen or serviced it.  Often no where near the truth, thus why should they be getting a cut to start with.

I had a long conversation with a guy I trust a ton and who has done business with EVERY used equipment broker in this industry and I'd love to share a lot of what I learned during that hour.  If I were a shop who didn't really know what I was looking at when it comes to autos, I'd hire someone who knows machinery not affiliated at all with the seller to look it over because I left that conversation thinking I'd never buy from all but 1, maybe 2 brokers and I'd always check out the equipment myself before dropping a dime.  Even the more respected brokers had bad deals so I understand the unreasonable buyers that are out there.

Since way back to Al Singer why does this industry attract shady brokers? Or are all brokers shady regardless of industry?
I don't even think used boats have as many problems as we do with sketchy folk.

Boats eh? Pig in a poke?
I get this visual from a movie in which our main character moves cross country to start his new life as a charter boat captain, and the old marina manager points in the direction of his dream yacht, presently half submerged and a home for twelve sea lions.
