This is 20 minutes North right now:
There is also a good sized one burning 40 miles West.
The one to the East isn't a worry as it's almost under control and we have a 70 mile long lake between it and us.
the one to the South is far away by the local Ski Hill, and I know quite a few friends with cabins that could be in trouble.
No worries as of yet, but the one to the North has over 1000 people evacuated and a shift in wind could be a real problem.
We're getting to see lots of this:
Those pilots are amazing.
10 years ago this was the view across the lake, unfortunately hundreds of homes were lost an hour up the valley, some real heart in your throat days back then:
Back the Martin Mars bombers were in service, not any more, they packed a serious wallop:
to get an idea of the size of them, they can swallow houseboats for breakfast:
Truly awe inspiring to see in action a scant few hundred feet over head.
