Mr Diggler

Was there a reason you went with separate units instead of the all in one starlight with lightbar?

More than one!  The light bar is for PHOTOPOLYMERS.  The starlight will expose anything FAST.  Also, my route saved me about 30 grand.

Is the rip software only PC based?

The new machines are PC based for the RIP. This does not seem to be an issue with customers though. We have many art rooms on mac/mac servers with a slave PC running the software ripping with hot folders.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the numerous ways to set up the work flow for the new i-Image ST/STE/STE II product line.

Is the rip software only PC based?

Im a mac guy for my design studio and I have an I-Image, the I-Image has it's own PC that comes with it, so I just output my print ready files using the PPD for Illustrator for the I-Image rip, drop those in a folder on server, open them directly from the pc on the I-Image and rock. It's not the same as outputting film at all, different mindset, even though some of the thought is similar, the environment created for the CTS is self contained. It's pretty awesome, There is no issue what so ever going from outputting art files from you mac to the I-Image rip on it's onboard computer at all.

I-image sitting in the new screen room!  After 3 days of use, I can honestly say I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO FILM!!  Plain and simple.  Some may try to argue this, and I know it has been said before, but I can't believe I didn't do it sooner!  That much better, I invite ANYONE to my shop to see the difference if you don't believe it.  And the Starlight...hands down my favorite new toy!  I can fully expose ANY emulsion SUPER fast, the LED is a game changer even if you are using film.  If you don't buy anything else in the next couple of years, buy an LED exposure unit and thank me later.

...I took Jason up on this just this last weekend, and took a road trip, along with another local shop owner here that I am good friends with, to see this in Jason's shop. The other guy was so impressed that he is doing the purchase paperwork now as we speak. Its THAT cool.

(You can just mail the commission to Jason and I, Rich...no hurry ;D ;D ;D ;D)

...the speed and accuracy of the Starlight has bought me SO much additional time, that I can now use printing, designing, selling or whatever I need to do. I burn screens for the week in less than an hour now. In fact, I did 27 today, took longer to attach films than it did to burn and develop. It really is amazing technology.

...BTW Jason, thanks so much again for having us, as well as the goodies you hooked us up with. Your shop is KILLER. I-Image, CH3D, plenty of space, super-clean...Colin and I are both inspired again. Hope to return the favor again somehow!!
Thanks TSB gang!!

...Sean, Mr Tees!!!

Man that is a beautiful machine.  Makes me want to toss a screen on my DTG printer to see what happens.
