I see what you are saying...and sorry for being anxious, the customer LOVED the design.

jason-23:
from my experience of fishing/working sport fishing boats in the past marlins are more ridged, meaning having that much articulation in the tail section is never seen in that short of an area. sail fish on the other hand can have a double curve in movement but marlin are more stiff. i think if you were to give the tail one bend or arch then it might look better. as for the tail fin i would have made it straight no curves in it at all, marlin fins are hard and stiff. just my two pockets full of lint.

Dottonedan:
@ Prozyan, the flow all the way back to the end where the body stops and the tail begins is what I was shooting for.  It's that direction/angle of Joe the tail must go in thy angle that is way off.

@ Jason, thanks for the info.  From the photo Ref, I could see, most are all straight. I could see in one of them that they do bend a little and would have to in order to push through the water and swim. Now to have that fish flop over on it's side while having s slight arc on the back portion seemed to fit.

Outside of the end portion on te tail ands the stubby length, I like the whole pose. It's different and shows action versus a side stiff pose.

jason-23:
agreed. they have a side to side motion but not  a motion like a snake if you will. very powerful animal, very stiff. so are you going to share what you settled with?   ;D

Dan, you have my permission...not that you need it.  ;D

The end result is breathtaking...I don't think this group could have imagined anything better.
