Low-cure inks and bases....
« on: May 15, 2014, 10:43:47 PM »
...heres a thought: these ink companies are introducing some low-cure plastisols for poly substrates, right? Soooooo....why the heck do we have anything else??? Whats the advantage of regular-cure plastisols now? Or, to ask that another way perhaps, is there any reason to not use this type of ink on everything? I sure would like to run my dryer thirty degrees lower, I know that much ($$$).

...any thoughts??  ??? :o
Thanks TSB gang!!

I agree with wishing that all plastisols had the lower cure qualities, but as for only having low cure poly ink? A few reasons against it
It's usually more expensive, and exhibits less printability than regular or even low bleed plastisols.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Ahh. I haven't tried any of the new-breed inks like this yet, so I cant speak of printability and the like. Good point there. But then are the downsides to these inks (printability, w.o.w, properties, or whatever) inherently an unavoidable symptoms that come with this stuff? I'd be willing to bet the farm that may of us here would pay extra for an all-purpose low-cure ink.

We need a high-end-ink-chemist type person around here.
Thanks TSB gang!!
