Best way to patch an IR panel with a tear?

Our old school Omni flash got something jabbed into it's panel in moving.  Is there a good way to patch this up?  I don't think it will really affect the heat at all but don't want little chunks of that insulating material shaking loose into the prints/shirts.  I'm guessing a heat resistant tape?

no need to patch it, just shake out what dust/debris you can then just let it be

On more than a few occasions, i've punched a hole in them myself and or worked with ones that had holes and they all worked just fine.

yeah a workhorse unit I used to have had the same thing, no effect on the heat. 

Just picked up some 26ga 1/4x1/4 mesh, should do the trick, layered up to prevent any errant chunks from getting to the shirt.  I would normally do nothing here but it's a shuttle unit and the Gauntlets vibrate a good deal when running.

This stuff works good, use a plastic scraper with a little bit of water to smooth it out once applied & let dry. You can also turn the flash on after applying as it will cure faster with heat.

It will seal it and prevent the coil from being exposed where there is live 220 Volt power running through it.

Thank you CGS!  Ordering some with my next mmc order.  Looks like it could be a handy item to have on hand generally. Is it possible to re-seal the tube for later use?
