Heat applied vinyl favorites?
« on: April 15, 2014, 05:51:11 PM »
Just curious as to what vinyl you guys prefer for your custom cut number/names ect. We've used ThermoFlexPlus for the longest time. Just tried some EasyWeed today. Not any easier to weed than ThermoFlex, but seems like a good vinyl. We've also tried the EnduraFlex from Signwharehouse, it's a cold peel, stinks like bootay, but seemed to do well on 50/50's.

100% Siser Easyweed......

Good to know!!! You know how it is, you want to make sure if you are trying something that it will hold up. I was able to order this roll by the foot rather than being locked down to the small 5 or 10 yard lengths.

I like both Siser Easyweed and Specialty Materials Thermoflex, but just find the Siser easier to get from folks I already deal with.
Specialty Materials, however, has wonderful tech support from folks who really care while the Siser folks were next to useless the one time I spoke to them.

Let's see if Ron Pierson drops in because he was just telling me back at Long Beach of another brand he really prefers.

We have only used ThermoFlex Plus and I have always liked it. It is not exactly in your neck of the woods but we get our from heattransferwarehouse.com and you can buy it by the foot or yard there I think. Looks like they just up'd their free shipping dollar amount though :(

Hopefully I'll never have to grow up and get a real job...

we've been ordering the thermoflex from either Tubelite, or bestblanks.com. Both Fl locations. Bestblanks though, even if you order by noon, they still take a couple days to ship out, and only us Fed ex, so in a pinch, it sorta sucks. Tubelite seems to always be out of stock on stuff. I ordered light grey from them yesterday, actually an RTape heat applied vinyl, never used it yet, but today when the truck came, the most important roll we needed for a rush order wasn't on the truck, "even though they said they had it". Luckily I took a chance since it was an important order and ordered a light grey Easy weed from specialty-graphics, paid the 32 bucks for fed ex next day, they saved the day by getting the order out for us and this Easy weed is actually pretty nice. It peels hot a lot nicer than the thermoflex. But, I do notices it doesn't weed as nice as the thermo flex plus does.

Thanks guys!!! You know it's funny, bestblanks is in hollywood fl, 4 hours away from us, UPS, or FedEx ground is the day in delivery. I can order 1 roll of vinyl and it costs 15 bucks for their shipping. Order a few or several rolls and it can be 20 or more for shipping. Monday I order a 100 ft roll of vinyl from specialty-graphics supply in Chicago, have it over night expressed FedEx and that was only 32 bucks extra. I might have to just start using these dudes and obviously order a head of time, but even in an emergency, they were very reliable!!
