Something new for me for the bat and ball set
« on: April 02, 2014, 11:45:13 AM »
A little league coach requested this as he was tired of the hassles that always occur as his players would get their hats mixed up in the dugout.
More than one team mom who has brought me their shirts to add names have also talked about finding another kid's hat coming home with their kid.

Simple, cheap, and gaining popularity. An easy up-sell.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

That is ironic because for the last 3-4 years we have embroidered player number on the hats for all team players.  we do not do a seperate line charge for this but rather lump it in the overall emb. charge.

it is good for teams to do not just to make sure they get the correct hat but because of lice and other such things.

It is commom for all the warm ups... i do for  schools. Plenty of hats, hoodies and equipment bags. Sometimes it can be as simple as 2" vinyl numbers on hoodie sleeves. Do not be surprised if next year they want the players name  under the number for the hat.

These, so far, along with names, are add-ons for uniforms provided by the area Little Leagues and similar youth programs, and done for individual teams.
Interestingly, in a fifteen mile radius, I see at least four separate Little Leagues and two independent just for the younger kids.

When my son participated in our local Little League, they re-used jerseys so adding names was not even an option though I often added names to teams from other league shirts.
A few years ago, our league began handing out "keepers" but, ironically would not allow names! Seems that they were concerned with facilitating child molestation
with an easier way to feign familiarity by using a youngster's name.

I know that more than once, I saw a different name in his hat and wish that I had done at least this part of the package back then.

frog was telling me about these on the phone...it's really smart and a great way for him to make a little more.

it's just one more thing for me to screw up though. ;)
