Serendipity in a color match
« on: March 31, 2014, 07:23:38 PM »
I have always had some specially mixed inks to match certain vinyls. Stahls even used to publish the Pantone matches for many colors of many of their materials.
Golden Yellow pops up the most, so to match Specialty Materials Golden yellow, I had mixed a formula (IC Golden Yellow 1000 g, Union Mixopake Red Y/S 2.5g.)
I later changed to Siser Easyweed, but they have no Gold, but rather a slightly yellower Yellow, and a redder Sun. Sun is my new gold, and merely requires double the red added...easy peasy!
I just ran a job with a pocket logo, and then a great matching vinyl name beneath.
Fast forward to some black and gold Augusta jerseys arriving this morning. Their gold is dead on to my Sun mix, and looked great! (trust me, the ink reflected differently than the trim in this pic and it's still close)

Thanks Augusta!

That rug really tied the room together, did it not?
