Press Placement

Currently have the manual where the CH3 is going.  Been waiting a few months on an electrical upgrade to use the CH3 that's been sitting on the ground unassembled.  Trying to figure out the placement because they are going to run the electrical to it and set it all up before our energy company brings in more electricity to the building.



There is a pillar in the middle of the warehouse to work around, currently it's 3 feet from it which I think will be fine to operate on. 

Getting carts to the load station might be slightly cramped....but this is the best I can come up with (Ideally maybe we would move the dryer almost against that pillar and then have space where the Diamondback is for the manual and a small dryer, but that's not happening).  Is 3.5 feet 'the correct' amount of space from the dryer to load and unload?

Also is clockwise the proper rotation there? Along the darkroom are ink shelves so we would want to keep the garments away from there.

Rotation should be determined by the clearest way to get garments to the press. Distance from tip of pallet to dryer conveyor should be 2' or less. You do not want the operator stepping to put the garment onto the belt. Should be a rotation movement only.

Mine is setup EXACTLY like that!

That's funny dirk...just like how we happened to use the same dryer settings too.

The dryer is not moving (although it might be nice if we did move it).

The pillar is the blue 8"x8" section to the right of the CH3.

I'm just trying to make sure these distances and placement is going to work well for the electrical installation.

Last thing - running the power from the center of the press on connectors for the flash units is the best way to plug those in and easily move the flash units right? That was my plan, it wasn't done with our Diamondback but wasn't necessary since we could only run one flash on it anyway.

our power on our flashes hangs down from the ceiling, we left a lot of slack in the cords and zip tied it up high above the press so they can be moved.  But honestly, if you have a 12 color CH3, you probably want 1 flash in head 2 and another in head 6 or 7 and probably would NEVER need to move them.  IMO.  You can get the 1 ft flash cords from M&R and plug flash at any head.  that's what we have on our CH3d.
