I suppose my point is that the customer is not always right. Sooner or later most will find that an "approved" j-peg is flawed in some manner and that often, when that happens, the customer will want you (the proffessional) to assume some liability. Therefore we have the duplicate approval in house including art, sales, and production. It has saved our butts on more than one occaision and, once in a while, gives us a little extra creditability with a customer when we point out that they missed something.

The funny thing about proofing... no matter how professional and business-like you try to handle your proofing, the vast array of clients will test your system. Some will be easy, some will be difficult, some will not understand what they need to do next??, some will simply be oblivious. The relationship you build with a client will always come into play. That's why no matter how advanced technology is, people will always just be people, all shapes, sizes and flavors. Follow up on proofs always. Cultivate your client relationships always. Be proactive always.     ------      happy proofing y'all!

We started using www.proofstuff.com and while most of our clients have figured it out some are still struggling. Mainly because it sends the proof from a program so most email systems see it as junk/spam so we are just giving them all a heads up in the beginning, but so far we like it.
