Just inherited an Epson Stylus Pro 4880
« on: February 25, 2014, 03:36:50 PM »
I am getting a reload paper error message, just about every time I try and print something. This is with individual paper, as far as I know I don't think this printer has ever been used with the roll. This printer was working for me about 1 in 20. Now it has been weeks since it has printed. I would just turn it off and back on then it would print. The paper goes through every time, some times it has a wrong size paper issue.  The guy who worked in this shop before me warned me about this printer. I thought he was crazy when he told me to load very little paper at a time or it would tell me to reload printer. Any ideas about this, I am open to suggestion.

is this with paper, film or velum?

my guess would be something to do with the paper feed sensor. There is a way to disable it in the menu somewhere. It might be worth a shot. . .

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

Yes turn the paper feed alignment sensor off. That thing can be a pain in the back. Even though it shouldn`t be but in can happen on older used models.
