little help with chemicals please.
« on: January 13, 2014, 09:51:39 PM »
I am just getting started so please forgive my stupid questions :) I do appreciate your help. I have just started getting my shop set up. I bought a used 6/2 silver press, exposure unit, flash cure and all that jazz. I cleaned the screens Saturday, set up the Epson for transparencies and will be dealing with the exposure unit this week. All the chemical that came with the press is just about gone. i used alot of it cleaning 9 screens Saturday! So my question is this: Please tell me what chemicals I need and what products work well and where to get them. I have read that CCI is what most of you are using. A local source for me would be Mclogan or Coastal supplies, but I am not against ordering online if the price is right and if its more convenient (one stop shop). I even thought about going through Ryonet, but it doesnt seem like alot of you do. i am using plastisol not water based and I am planning on using dual cure emulsion.

Suggestions for me please on the following:
Emulsion
Emulsion remover
Dehazer
Degrader - do I need this?
Exposure calculator (scale) ??
Other supplies that I may not be considering?
Best inks

Best supply source?

Thanks again!

it sounds like you are in san diego, so you should call Jaime Fernandez, he is the local CCI rep and will take excellent care of you and get you set up with just what you need without overselling you anything.
