pigment color migration

Two color water based job. One is white and other is red. Before heating the color are fine. After dryer the red color migration in to white.  Where is the problem in white or red?.

Probably neither. Pre-press or on press issues more likely

Do you have new base, pigments, or additives in either ink?

I am assuming this is a brand new problem....

Sounds like some kind of wicking is happening.  Potentially, the problem is a bad product.  Or, of mixing in to much of an additive.  Possibly a bad pigment batch...

Did the print cure out the same?  Does it feel the same/look the same as all other waterbase prints?

Did it pass a wash test?
Been in the industry since 1996.  5+ years with QCM Inks.  Been a part of shops of all sizes and abilities both as a printer and as an Artist/separator.  I am now the Ink and Chemical Product Manager at Ryonet.

Washing failed on red color. May be the color quality not good.

Definitely call the Ink Company and ask!  Bad pigments can happen...

Please know that with some water base inks it is important to flash the first color very well before you print the second.

I suppose so but we never do. If pre-press is done correctly this should be a rae fix.
