Thanks guys! Once I get some more time and maybe bring in my good camera I'll take some decent overall shop pics.

Nick, comments on the Shurloc squeegee cleaner? Price tag is around $400 I believe.

We haven't used it yet, still need chemical. But we saw it in action up at Danny's shop and thought it was a great idea. It runs just under $600 for the unit and then the "lid/holder" is around $100, but we figured we spend well over that a year on the washout tank with the chemical so this should be cheaper (and easier) in the long run.

awesome..only negative is that spray adhesive on the press....

now get those shirts printed.

I know I'm trying to convince them to switch to a waterbased but he's not quite there yet. As most of you know I have been doing a TON of research and testing of products over the past few years but that was at the other shop so I now have to show my new boss all that research so it's like I'm starting over.

Nick,

Nice pics of the shop, great looking rolling production tables  ;D

Merry Christmas to all!

~Kitson

Thanks, function not form.  ;) We actually have a pile of lumber in the corner that I am going to build a few more so we have "extras".

Great job Mr Kitson but why are you not utilizing the space under the table?  say for pallet tape? sleeve boards?  something to maximize space?

just a thought.  we built carts like that but made three shelves under for storage for embroidery backing ( because it is wrapped ) and other things that really did not have a place.

We have mobile pallet racks, squeegee carts, ink carts, etc as well as custom built work stations for any and all accessories strategicallly placed by all presses. Every press has its own set of tools.
Reduces interruptive downtime. Nice looking shop BTW

We have very similar carts with 2 shelves underneath. Coroplast makes for a great top surface too and you can always wipe it down to get ink, adhesive or what-have-you off of it.

You can see the tops of the bolts for the wheels on the plywood on the bottom shelf.

It was a matter of having the table height at a comfortable working level and still having room for the bottom shelf to fit 14 adult platens stored on edge, which we'll build slots for in the next few months. The top shelf fits 14 sleeve platens. If the wheels had been under the 2x4 frame it would have been too high. The caddy on the side is perfect for some spray cans, pens, Sharpies, scissors, Exacto knife, block out pen and a coffee   :P the hangers for screen tape and measuring tape complete the set-up, but I still need to put a scotch tape dispenser on it to help blow my ROI all to hell.

And for those keeping track, the pinkish wood is from the crate the Auto showed up in  ;D

We might even throw a coat of paint on it in our slow time, Jan/Feb. I'm really looking forward to doing all the little projects done we've been putting off for the past year and will be sure to post some pics of anything interesting.

Ok so does anyone know how to disable the 3 beeps that happen when starting the press?? It gets kind of annoying when you stop it to fix something or add ink and then start it back up again and it beeps.....
