4900 Output issue...11/21
« on: November 21, 2013, 02:19:26 PM »
We run a 4900 with Accurip, all black carts. 17" wide roll film. It has worked great for 2 years now.

2 days ago the printer started printing only half of the image files... i.e only 7" printed of a 14" wide image
We have dumped the driver, re-installed, looked carefully at all paper settings...
No issues with opacity, but we cannot get the machine to print a full image file.
Re-naming files, messing with paper sizes - nothing seems to work. We

It is the strangest thing, and we have been using a smaller 1430 as back up.
Put in a ticket to Accurip, but no response yet...

Any one here experience something like this before? We are stumped.

Thanks.  John

does it print a full sheet on paper when bypassing the RIP?

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

Hi Pierre..

Thanks for your reply.

RIP or no RIP, CS6 Illustrator or  Photoshop..prints only half the image.

that seems to be a printer issue, rather than a RIP issue.
try printing on paper to see if it has something to do with the edge sensor. You can try disabling those too and see what happens.

we just swapped out the roll, and printed a 13 x19.
printed the full width.  wow. some strange stuff. My guess now is that
the roll paper pre sets that we have have somehow become corrupted.
We will continue to trouble shoot and pass along our findings. Hopefully
it will be helpful to 4900 users on this forum.

I had this happen. When we rotated the image 180 degrees it would print the whole pc. Have no idea why but when it happens it always works.
