« on: July 27, 2011, 04:25:52 PM »
I have seen alot of people having newer versions of illustrator files and needing help. This is a work around, it is really simple.

Place adobe Illustrator file into Indesign. (may work with other programs)
Export indesign file to PDF
Open PDF in Illustrator
do a flatten Transparency (make sure to check convert text to outline.

Good tip. I've also been able to start a blank document, then place the design, then embed, no issues.

You are right. I have never done it that way. The only advantage with the way I posted is if the artwork has text that was not been outlined.

See, though I know that you are just funnin', the point is that now, all of the "cool guys and gals" here can show their skill and prowess, and the ease with which their Adobe products, even in the older CS versions, can now, with these tips, open the previously unopenable, super newest snazzy CS5 AI files, and save them as something so standard, that even a loser CorelDRAW Suite user can open it.  8)
Yes! Peace and harmony in graphics land again!
