So tell us about your rig?
Artelf2xs:
at work I run a mac G5tower ( pre-pro) with dual 2.5 ghz. Risc based Power PC chips. 8 gigs ram, It has a ata drive but I'm running dual 500 gig Scsi raid array drives, ATI Radeon 9550 running dual 21" Diamondtron Nf Pro 2040 CRT monitors..
I just got a 17"Macbook pro i7 Quad core 2.3 with the upgraded 9500 RPM drive and HD antiglare monitor.. 12 gigs ram. I plug it into a 24" LCd by viewsonic.
Now that I have some extra cash from a recent gig I'm looking at the 12-core Mac pro towers...

12-core Mac pro towers...
Holy smokes! Sounds like something you'd have to wear a radiation suit or pressurized flight suit around . . . :P
Artelf2xs:
It's just two 2.6 ghz, 6-Core Intel Xeon “Westmere” processors
Denis Kolar:
At work I have a brand new Quad core Mac G5 with 8 gig of ram, Eizo 24" monitor and a regular 22" Acer monitor on the side for panels.
At home, I have 20" iMac (6 years old) ready to be replaced and a chepo PC (stands for PIECE of CRAP) to run embroidery software and print seps in the basement.
I cant wait to get some extra money so I cold get spiced up 27" iMac next fall.
IntegrityShirts:
Got tired of my slow desktop so went ahead and built a new PC. I haven't done this in years, but I'm tired of Dell's reliability even though their service is great. The laptop just had the screen replaced under warranty.
So I picked my nerd-friends brains and this is what I ended up building:
AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6ghz Quad core processor
16gb RAM
120gb SSD (regular hard drives are so expensive right now because of flooding)
PNY ge-force 520 1gb cheap video card for multiple display awesomeness
23" LED backlit monitor
It's a beast! Just need to install the rest of my programs and get it crankin'!
