Just ordered an i-Image ST...
« on: November 25, 2013, 06:48:22 PM »
........hope I did the right thing.

We do 250-300 screens a day - should help. The savings on film alone will pay for it I think. Toner is toner - still gotta buy that stuff. We got the LED light seperate - won't be here till they can catch up with production in Glen Ellen. The ST will get here first, I'm told. We are a dual cure shop, should cut burn time by percentages I assume. I'll keep all interested people on track with this progression into the 21st century - LOL.

Did you get the 1, 2 or 3 head?  At that many screens per day you'll have a very fast ROI I think.  I'm sure the single head unit would work for you but I think the 3 head will keep up with over 300 screens per day.

I'd love a play-by-play on this since this will likely be our next major purchase.

Should be one of the best purchases you've ever made! I know going dts has completely changed our shop's work flow as I have preached over and over. I'm confident you will see the major savings in on press setup times that we did. Personally I would never screen print again without a dts! You'll be very happy once you get used to the change of workflow and see all the benefits. I'm sure with the amount of screens your doing your ROI will be less then 6 months. Good luck with it you will be forever changed!

Nothing I have ever done has made a more positive impact on productivity & PROFITability than CTS/DTS technology.  AND, the real savings were not in the consumeables area I expected, it is all about workflow and reduced set-up times.

I second what Mr. Kitson is saying.  yeah we save money on consumables, but we really make money on the set ups and not microing anything!  dts is where it is at.

How about 2,000 screens per day. That is what one of our largest customer produces daily on for I -images.

Well - we can't wait!! I'll keep everyone in the loop. Rich, 244, I appreciate your support.

We are already looking to the log-jams this will cause (we have been looking at this for quite awhile)- there are many.

Staging MUST happen in a more productive way!!
Set up times will accelerate dramatically...
As we speed up production, QC will be hit with a tidal wave of printed cotton (just one area we need to "adjust").
We have 2 shifts doing screens now - what will the second shift do?? (we already have answers - no one will be let go).
The art room should be done by noon as a result of "not screwing around with film". (we will get them more work)
Shippping will start much sooner than before.
Receiving will have to be on top of their game - (they are now but....)

I can tell you that the most fun has been preping all our "teams" for this and they totally understand the implications. We have been working on this for quite some time.

Thanks for your help and support......
